Psalm 91 ~ Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

Ever since I have become a momma I have had a great fear of the persecution that is coming.  This Psalm has calmed my fears many times. I hope it will be a blessing to you:)

Psalm 91

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
         Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
         My God, in Him I will trust.”

 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the Fowler
         And from the perilous pestilence.
 He shall cover you with His feathers,
         And under His wings you shall take refuge;
         His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
         Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
         Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

 A thousand may fall at your side,
         And ten thousand at your right hand;
         But it shall not come near you.
 Only with your eyes shall you look,
         And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
         Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
  No evil shall befall you,
         Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
         To keep you in all your ways.
 In their hands they shall bear you up,
         Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
         The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
         I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
         I will be with him in trouble;
         I will deliver him and honor him.
 With long life I will satisfy him,
         And show him My salvation.”

I Made My Home Schooling Choice:)

Thanks to every one who shared how/tips for homeschooling, I am so very grateful:)  With that being said, I made my decision for homeschooling, a couple weeks ago actually, I just finally made time to post about it.  I decided to use BFIAR (Before Five In A Row).  I don't have the BFIAR manual yet due to funds, but I have been learning A LOT about BFIAR from Michelle @ http://delightfullearning.blogspot.com/2010/04/learning-together-with-five-in-row.html.  She has been using it for some time and has all kinds of great ideas.  I basically print out every thing I can find for each book and then add a letter for the week, a song for the week, a bible verse for the week, and a Hebrew letter each week.  I have been able to check out the book for each week at the Library.  So it ends up being basically free, just printer ink and craft supplies is all I have to purchase so far:)

Grace and Chloe eating there Jesse Bear sandwiches:)

Grace and Chloe love it.  As soon as Grace opens her eyes in the morning she is talking about school:)  And what I love most about BFIAR is that I can use the same curriculum for Grace (age 4), Chloe (age 2 almost 3). and Hannah (age 1)as well once she is a little older.

As soon as I get around to it I will post some pictures and tell you about what we are up to.

Thank you to Andi @ Declared Unto Him for telling me about Michelle @ Delightful Learning:)

Homeschooling Delima

I have been praying a lot lately about homeschooling since I need to begin with our oldest Grace, she just turned 4.  My husband and I made the decision a couple of years ago that we would home school our girls.  The only problem is with homeschooling is I have NO idea where to begin, how to go about it, or how we will be able to afford it:(  All that to say I need help!

There are a few homeschooling curriculum's/programs that I am really interested in they are Charlotte Mason Method, My Fathers World (I think that is what its called), and there is a blog with homeschooling info called Heart of Wisdom.  My husband and I would love for our girls to learn Hebrew and all about the biblical feasts etc.

So please help me I would love to know what other christian homeschooling mommas are using.

Update On My Garden

So I have been planning to update every one on my garden, but to be honest I am little bit embarrassed about my outcome so far.  I lost almost all the plants I started in my little greenhouse..  With it being my first time starting from seed I knew would probably mess it all up, and yep I did:(  But the good news is I know what I need to change for next year.  I had a feeling all along but just had to wait it out and see if I was correct because we couldn't afford to fix it at the time..  Well I figured out that they didn't receive enough light. Which is easy to fix, and since I have such a small gardening area we figured that we will just buy starts until we are able to have a big garden.  I think it would have actually been a lot cheaper to just buy the starts since I only needed 1-2 of each plant that I planted.

All that made it was my snow peas ( Since those were planted directly in the ground) a couple tomato plants, 1 lemon cucumber, a couple zucchini and yeah I think thats it:(

All that to say this is what is in my garden right now:

1 lemon cucumber
2 Zucchini's
1 Million Cherry Tomato ( I think the name is wrong, but its some thing million:) )
5 Snow Peas
3 Bush Beans
24 Strawberry
1 Crookneck Squash

Our 5 Gallon Bucket Garden:
7 Potatoes
2 Mr. Stripey Tomato Plants
1 Sunburst Squash
6 Garlic
1 Lemon Cucumber
1 Brandy Wine Tomato
1 Sun Gold Tomato
1 Cherry Tomato

I would love to hear from any one else using 5 gallon buckets.  This is our first year to use them, and we are nervous for the outcome!
I will try to take some pictures and post them soon:)

Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit.  Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters—that you may be increased there, and not diminished.  And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace.  For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are in your midst deceive you, nor listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed.  For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them, says the LORD.

To Train Up A Child

Parents cannot impart righteousness to their children, but they can help them develop firm commitment to righteousness.  Parents cannot write the law on the hearts of their children, but they can weave the law and the gospel into their developing consciences.

Anticipating the child's development, and knowing that evil will come to be a part of his moral being, places an urgent sense of responsibility upon parents.  The world is a powerful, unrelenting undertow, pulling children to destruction.  Looking at statistics alone, the probability is overwhelming against their moral survival.  The training parents give and the wisdom they impart can make all the difference in their outcome.  You hold an eternal soul in your hands.  You cannot afford to give in to weariness, indifference, laziness, or careless neglect.  God chose you two as parents of these children!

 ( Taken From The Book "To Train Up A Child") ~  This is a great book that my friend let me borrow, and plan on sharing from this book as I continue to read it:)

Jesus, All for Jesus

Jesus, all for Jesus,
All I am and have and ever hope to be.
Jesus, all for Jesus,
All I am and have and ever hope to be.

All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into Your hands.
All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into Your hands.

For it's only in Your will that I am free,
For it's only in Your will that I am free,
Jesus, all for Jesus,
All I am and have and ever hope to be.
